It is so exciting to realize the possibilities for positivity, happiness and wellbeing. The most current research in positive psychology, discoveries about the mind- body sciences, 37 years of clinical experience and on-going education, the accumulated experience and knowledge of 60 years of life, and simple good common sense are the foundation of my work.

Who I Work With

I help people successfully and positively make it through challenging life experiences. People who have a strong commitment to life. Who believe in the future, but are finding the present difficult. I work with people who want to adjust after taking a life hit, to return to their best self, and

even thrive beyond adversity.

Adjustment issues may be felt as tension, stress, mild to moderate anxiousness, tiredness, unusual sadness, difficulty sleeping--things like that.

I work with people who basically like themselves, but something--some piece of the puzzle--is missing. A piece of confidence, or comfort, or well-being.

Maybe....

  • Maybe you are experiencing a painful divorce or personal loss. You believe you will be happy again, but it is hard right now.
  • Maybe you are really good at your job but are finding yourself feeling anxiety in some situations, especially those times when you need to make strong presentations or a good impression. You know what you are capable of but are having panicky reactions that are frustrating.

  • Maybe you have enjoyed good health for most of your life, but now have to come to terms with a challenging medical condition. You believe the mind body connection is powerful, and want to learn how to use your own inner resources for optimal health and comfort.

If you know that your distress is likely temporary, but there is a piece of the healing or confidence or good health puzzle that you just haven't been able to find, you may find counseling very helpful in making more rapid progress in reaching your goal of feeling good.

To strategize and collaborate with you to bring together all the relevant components of meaningful change for lasting benefits. When our work together is complete, you feel easy about directing and managing your own unfolding process with confidence and pleasure.

Bring a genuine open-minded willingness to learn what is possible, to focus on what you can control, and to accept what you can't.

Be willing to accept ownership--responsibility--for your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Bring your knowing what you want--which of course means being willing to give care and attention to your personal well-being.

Together we get great things done by being mutually forthright, honest, positive and constructive.

We now know that what we focus on, think about, give attention to is going to amplify, become more, be stronger.

For this reason, honesty is rightfully partnered with positivity, focus on what is wanted (vs what is not wanted), openness to exploring and discovering what is possible, and choosing wisely in accordance with what is wanted and what is possible--these are the principles that I value.
