How I work - Counseling
"The purpose of therapy should be to help people get un-stuck, not to endlessly muck around in how they got that way."

Counseling is a collaborative partnership. The key to successful counseling and positive change is our mutual commitment to bringing the best that we have to the work of creating the desired outcomes.
My job is threefold:
To encourage and support you through this challenging time.
To offer you the benefits of 36 years of experience, knowledge and expertise, so that you can master your own personal positive psychology to give you lasting tools for creating the life you desire. If you wish, these tools can include clinical hypnosis and/or mindfulness meditation.
To strategize and collaborate with you to bring together all the relevant components of meaningful change for lasting benefits. When our work together is complete, you feel easy about directing and managing your own unfolding process with confidence and pleasure.
Your job description is:
To bring your knowing of what you are want--which of course means giving care and attention to your personal wellbeing.
You bring a genuine open-minded willingness to learn what is possible, to focus on what you can control, and to accept what you can't.
You are willing to accept ownership--responsibility--for your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Together we are mutually forthright, honest, positive and constructive.
We now know that what we focus on, think about, give attention to is going to amplify, become more, be stronger.
For this reason, attention to the present as it relates to what is desired for the future (vs critical over focus on what is past), honesty partnered with positivity, focus on what is wanted (vs what is not wanted), openness to exploring and discovering what is possible and choosing wisely in accordance with what is wanted and what is possible--these are the principles that I value.
So, if this process appeals to you, contact me and we will get started. I would love to hear from you.
